We support the LVR school in Düsseldorf

We are delighted to be able to support the LVR school in Düsseldorf this year.

In the 2017/18 school year, 186 pupils in years 1 to 10 with a need for special educational support with a focus on physical and motor development were taught at the LVR-Schule am Volksgarten. This need for special educational support exists if learning at school is permanently and extensively impaired due to significant functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, damage to the brain, spinal cord, musculature or skeleton, or organ dysfunction.

The school has a holistic concept: teaching (holistic learning according to individual support plans), therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, motor therapy) and care are closely linked. One of the school’s tasks is to make up for important developmental phases in early childhood through intensive motor development. Funding is largely dependent on the severity of the disability and the variety and intensity of the support.

Pupils are taught according to their abilities in the primary and lower secondary school, learning and intellectual development courses and receive the corresponding school-leaving certificates. It is an all-day school with special school transport. The catchment area includes the city of Düsseldorf, parts of the district of Neuss and parts of the district of Mettmann.
